Some advise: - Lock (or try to lock) your elbows to your torso while edging. You achieve two things by doing this - you keep the handle close to your body (or the center of the gravity)and you still can move a bit with your upper body. - Consciously apply the pressure at the heel edge. Force the board at the heel edge. Force it even more, just before "flipping". - Experiment with different trajectories. You should start with big easy curve, then build more and more pressure. Remember to keep elbows locked, the board forced at the heel edge and control the pressure with your upper body. - When you start to feel the most pressure starting from your shoulders and ending at your heel edge you are ready to "flick". Keep your sight at something in front (maybe on the shore), start with you leading shoulder, dig even deeper with your front foot heel and throw your board to behind. Try not to rely on your instincts, because they'll tell you you are going to take a nasty faceplant. - Try not to release you arms. - Once in the air you'll feel like the time stopped. The landing is so natural you don't need any explanation on it. - If you don't succeed try to improve two things - your hands (lock them) and your heel pressure.
