A few weeks ago I got a chance to ride the 2010 Faction 138. http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/1/721231.html?1249090364
The reason for attaching the Faction thread is because these two boards are the same shape. Both are from a new 2010 mold.

Last night I rode the 144 DB9. This board is everything the Faction is, but lighter. The DB9 is CWBs new exotic core, constructed from Bamboo. Very light, and very strong. Unlike the discontined Platinum boards, the bamboo core doesn't make the board stiff, in fact, it seems to have slightly more flex when it lands. The pop on the DB9 was the same as the Faction board for me. This time I rode the shape with the out-of-the-box fin set-up. The edge hold was just like the 2009 Transcend for me, but still faster, and a little smoother feeling. I rode the 144, but because of the light weight materials, the board felt much smaller under my feet. It was a blast.

Danny Weisenburg, Scott Ensminger, and myself have all set it down in the flats, and so far, it's taking the beating just fine.

Also attached are the 2010 Vapor boot. These are pre-pre-production, but very close to the final product. I've been riding these since the spring, 3-6 sets a week, no problems. They're a little discolored from the delta water, but that's it. The velcro, stitching, and general construction is still working perfectly. For those that think the hinge doesn't do much, check out how far this boot opens for your fat foot! Velcro Rules!

The DB9 is sick! I agree with Jrod, it rides similar to the Transcend but feels a little faster and looser. It pops hard, lands soft, and is super light! It didn't feel like I was riding a 144 at all! It was a really fun board to ride, CWB has definitely stepped it up for 2010!

I couldn't really compare apples to apples on the landings. This board was a 144, so yes, it landed softer than the 138 for me, and was way more stable, for sure. I also liked the longer stock fins over the Marius fins.

Those boots look sick. They come in closed toes?

The closed toe version is the Andrew boot. Higher, stiffer, CT.

So you going for the 144 J-Rod ?
Hope it was worth the wait to get to try it out.

I wish they would make a Marius with that core .

deffinately the fastest and easiest boots to get into on the market now. Ive always thought there was more potential in the tongue opening up than the back of a boot with hinges (or laces) But now with BOTH. cant be beat... except for Iron Man's boots. HA!
