2004 Malibu 23 LSV- I assume it's a ground somewhere but haven't had much lucking finding the problem yet. When we were at Lake Mead last week and hit rough water which was most of the day on any part of the lake, the electrical would reset on everything (Speedo, PerfectPass, buttons, Beep, etc.). The only thing what would stay on is the radio which is wired directly to separate battery bank so it stays on as you turn on and off boat. The motor would also stay on which is a relief. This was our 2nd day on the water with the boat since we bought it a couple weeks ago. The first day had no issues. I also noticed the gas gauge wasn't working at all, which I know it worked on the test drive and I thought it worked the previous weekend trip. Just hoping someone may know a common place to check since it doesn't happen all the time. I will probably just have to get it powered up and keep pushing wires around under the dash until I get it to repeat.

My '04 X2 is having the same problem. I got up under the dash and started pushing wires until they came back on. Obviously something is loose up in there. My dash is all run by a brain box and I'm assuming yours is too. I'm thinking it's something pretty simple like the ground to that computer or something. The problem is that there is a tangle of wires under there and I have no idea where to start.

Ya. It looks the same for me also. It can be hard when it's not easy to repeat the isuue and there are wires everywhere.

Check the ignitiion wires right behind the key - should be easy to pull that out.

Or check the cannon plug near the engine.
