Thx for the compliment Spencer, Moomba has come a long way since they started, After the old Mastercraft execs took over supra and formed skier's choice, moomba/supra are built on the same lines and the quality of the product is excellent. Did a lot of shopping, saved a ton, the wake is perfect, and i have LOTS of gas and gear money left. Love my Moomba

John, how you like your 24SSV? The pic I just posted above is my "new" 24SSV and I am excited beyond words about it. Any tidbits of advice on it? I've noticed you have had this boat for sale for some time so I was curious if there was a particular reason or not.

Ah that grey/black supra is wicked, hey John, check your messages, I sent you a pm about some extra info on how hard it was to get those speaker panels out. putting in my xs-650's soon so it'll all be wetsounds.

Lance, our company '09 22SSV is all wetsounds and we had to drill new holes for the XS-650's. Not sure if that's what you're asking but they were a relatively easy switch. Also, worth the switch.

Cody, yeah was wondering if i'm gonna have to do new screw-holes or mounting holes too, some have said new mounting holes, and next time i bring the boat home from the lake i was gonna pull the panels (recommended by John) to make the job easier. But if it's a real pain to pull the panels on a skiers choice boat i was just gonna use a jigsaw. Thx for the info.

Cody, it's a pretty nice boat. I like it, but have had to fix a few problems or "not up to par" things with it when I bought it new. It's the piddly things like the rear locker cushions that fold up and down are mounted through 1/4" fiberglass with self-tapping screws. No bolts, no reinforcements. The holes are completely worn out so I've removed those and added stainless bolts with a steel reinforcement plate on the rear. That's just some of the small things that I've done over the 3 years of owning it. Things like that shouldn't be an issue on a boat that had an MSRP of $65K. I also can't keep my dump pump working on the front ballast because fragments of carpet keep getting in it. Had to dump 1100# of water through the bilge the other day because the pump locked up. Anyway, I'm satisfied with it. It's for sale just because.... No real reason. Lance, I replied to one for you a few weeks ago about the speakers. Did you not get that one? It's a little time consuming, but fairly easy. The panel is bolted on from behind. Remove the existing speakers and you'll find a few. You just have to feel around in there, and also go under the rear bench and reach up, then in the front of the panel through the storage console. It's easier IMO to just remove the whole panel so you don't take a chance at damaging the vinyl panel over the speakers. I really don't think that I can remove the speakers right now without taking that whole panel off anyway. The 650's are a lot bigger than the crappy Kenwoods that were in there.

But if it's a real pain to pull the panels on a skiers choice boat i was just gonna use a jigsaw. Thx for the info. Can't even get a jig-saw in there bub.... You could possibly use an air-saw, but I think the overlying panel covers too much of the speaker hole to get the 650 in there.

New pics from this year. Powdercoated the boardracks and mirror gloss black. Painted the vent covers gloss black and added a ton of led's on the interior and in the vents. I still can't decide if I want to go naked without all the decals yet.

thanks cody, since the decks above the rub rail on Epics are white, we wanted to stay with the 2 color combo, didn't want to throw too many other colors into the mix (ie-black tower or black graphic, brushed tower etc). We're working on the design of the custom graphic and hope to have it printed and on the boat around 4th of july, will post new pics when it's done...

Why do you think it being a DD makes it less capable of producing a wake? The hull design may leave much to be desired but motor placement has little to do with the wake.

It doesn't make it less capable of producing a wake. It does, however, make it more difficult to produce a comparable wake to a v-drive. The engine placement has everything to do with the wake, because it's the primary weight distributor. You can only attempt to recreate that by adding bags to a d-drive. Don't get me wrong, you can make a terrific wake out of a direct drive. When I was on the UT wake team we had an X7, and we just pilled the ballast one on top of another, but it was horrible on gas and a little dangerous.

You can ballast a V-drive and a D-drive of the same hull a produce the same wake period.
