If you are heading to Lake Ozark and bringing your own boat, go camp at Public Beach #1 (Hwy. 54 to Hwy. 42 Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Hwy 134):
http://www.funlake.com/do_see/outdoors/lotosp.php For other boats to get there is a long journey through "no wake" zone so you typically find some scenic smooth. All that being said, I live on/love Lake Ozark but on weekends during the summer, I head south to less crowded waters if I want to ride. Depending on where you stay, there are countless options of what to do and always a party to be had.
This message brought to you by Lake Ozark Tourism, Wakeworld Liaison who reminds you, "our Lake is shallow, difficult to navigate, full of snakes/logs, unswimable water and nowhere to ride...(ha)"
