even though we are always improving boards manufacturers have stopped making earlier boards which were great! What model in your eyes is a classic because of its shape/dimensions/fin config. etc. and should be brought back like they do with cars...new graphics etc..?....and why? personally I think the 2006 marius was a classic board.....the board is slow (I am old) with big consistant pop and I found it just really gave me a stable ride and didn't force me into mistakes like some more aggressive boards. I also like the centre fin which sits on a bump which acts like a spine with the v taper...it really crushes the wake. and the lf fish....which incidently I am looking for if you have one (133). I havent ridden one but the board is wide like the marius and with the 4 fin config and lower rocker is prob. more fun to zip around on but still give big wake to wake pop.

Opps, it was Phatty. http://www.wakeworld.com/boardguide/getboard.asp?boardid=155 "Mfg's Comments: The Phatty goes big! Shorter and wider, with just the right flex, this board has virtually no swing weight. The unique top structure enhances your spinning off the wake. Featuring shaved rails, deep edge channels and O'Brien's Feather Core Process this board will elevate you."

Westsidarida, I was just about to say the ol' Slayer. That was the first advanced board I ever hopped on. Along with the '00 Vert bindings. Looking back these offer ZERO ankle support. It was like wearing a sock with a couple straps.

None!!! I used to think this, and the LF Trip 38 was my favorite board ever... then I had the chance to ride a trip again after about 7 years of new technology and the board was crap... the new tech is so much better... but what do you really expect. I still have all my old boards broken or not and I do love them for nostalgia reasons but thats it.

I would say LF trip but they already brought it back. I would say substance but they still make it! (SICK board, I think its about 7 years strong). I dont know about any else, I never rode the Balance but on paper it sounds right up my alley so if they remade it id demo it.

I'd like to see another Shannon Best pro model. I always enjoyed riding my LF Best board. Might have ease up on the 2.25" fin and the double profile full length rails... but then again who am I kidding? The board was fast for a reason. I think many of us might be biased because often these are some of the first boards we learned on, but then again you compare everything you ride after to that first board.

Forrest, The board was originally damaged in shipping by a "shipping strap" that dented in one of the rails. The board was repaired with Pemex and you can hardly tell it was ever damaged. It rides like it should. The board doesn't have any major scratches or anything like that. I think I paid $100 for it so I don't really care. I have an offer for $150 though plus shipping currently on the table. He was trying to get money from his dad though. Have you guys ever ridden this board? It's very hard to ride, it's glued to the water and tracks like a freight train. I'm not sure why anyone would want it.
