In 07 i got a pair of the shane limited bindings. In the first year the outer layer started peeling off and I got them replaced on warranty. The 08's I got to replace them did the same thing. Anybody else have this problem with the shanes or maybe other LF bindings?
I had a pair of 07's that the bottom outer layer peeled off and my shop replaced them right away(thanks SITZMARK, you guys rule!!) with another pair of 07's. Haven't had a problem with them yet but it looks like they are starting to peel. I ride at the cable mostly so I'm always pulling my bindings on and off so I'm sure they go through more wear and tear that way. P.S. I really like the 09's. I just think you have to put them on a flashy board so they don't overpower the board too much. On my 08 witness they might be too much but the 09 witness grind, or press(my next board between the two) I think they will look cool.
The only "outer layer" stuff that peeled on my 07 or 08 shanes was self inflicted. It was only where the toes would rub when the board was upside down... Quality stuff my friend.
well i have been rocking the LF watson OT 07s for over a year and late last year picked up some 08s on the cheap and have ridden them a few months now with no issues on either..maybe its just the Shanes?
My 07 CT Watson's have that problem. I'm not too worried about it. I'm fairly sure it has something to do with waterlogging them and then sticking them in a place where the water just stays put instead of drying out, which then causes bubbles under the material that pop and come off after they're rubbed against something.
I sent 07's back via warrantee for the Heel separating from the base, and also for the peeling of the outer layer. I'm hoping that this isn't an issue with the 08's because I've loved my Shanes so far.
this happened on both my 07 ad 08 shane's, my 07s the sole was ripping away from the boot and my 08s are just deteriorating, so i'm sending back, i love the feel of the shane's so i dont plan on changing bindings because of it
