I saw it at the boat show and thought it was butt ugly. I didn't like the lines, I didn't like the way the transome slopes down to the swim platform. It reminds me of my friends old Tige and it's a pain to sit on the rear and strap on your board. The interior looks cheap, the windsheild doesn't even wrap around the side, and the tower is fugly. It's a price point boat, but you can get a comparable Moomba for less money and much better equipped. I'm not impressed at all. We'll see what the wake looks like, I'd imagine it's pretty similar to the malibus.

Saw one last night at the Seattle Boat show. Can’t say I really liked it. I agree with Shane in that is has really weird lines to the whole thing. And with the patterns on the interior and exposed under seat storage it was very busy looking. Not my cut of tea. There are just too many “gimmicky” type things going on. A few examples: The under seat storage looks ok empty, glowing with lights and all that, but imagine as stuff starts to accumulate in there it will make the boat look dirty. The nice things about boat storage is that you can stick stuff in there you don’t want people to see. With this boat, if you want it to look clean, you are going to have to worry about how your storage looks. Not very functional. The windshield. I can’t imagine this does a good job at keeping the wind out of passengers face while driving. Maybe it does, who knows, but it’s ugly. The tower is ugly and just way to many line changes…like the MB tower. And the black power mixed with the chrome just adds to the gimmick. Cheap looking black speakers that stand out way too much….look like radio shack. Just looks like a boat that is trying way to hard. Oh, and sorry no pics.

One thing I really didn't like was the square tubing grab rails. They looked cheap, uncomfortable and like if you fell into them it would hurt.

The wake looks awesome. Was that with just the stock underfloor ballast and wedge or did it have some addition weight in it?

Now kids we all know that you can't tell a wake from a picture. From my view the wake on pic number 19 looks pretty dang good to me. Its a VLX hull, it doesn't need anymore validation than that. I just want to know how the wind protection was without any side window?

^^^ picture #19 as stephan points out does a good job at that. IMO, looks like a nice wake but we also need know know the ballast/wedge setup. $.02 But overall, looks good.

First off...BIG UPS for actually posting those pics. Most people never follow through with it. Can we get some more specifics...factory weight, speed, line length, rider height, etc.? Thanks for the pics though!

The windshield in the boat is very user friendly. It makes is way easier to talk to and see riders in the water and blocks the wind just as good as a normal windshield dose and i think its more functional for the type of ridding we all do. We did have about a 1000 pounds of extra weight in the boat but we did not have the upgraded plug and play ballast system. The boat has a TON of power and drives awesome. Sorry i should have posted that in my last post... Factory weight in the boat is 900#. Jo the rider in pic # 19 is right at 6' and was ridding at 22.7 according to the perfect pass that comes stock with the boat. We was ridding at 75 feet with the wedge down.

I'm really curious about how the windshield works because I'm always pulling up to a dock alone and it would be nice to just reach out and grab it rather than having to get out of your seat and go around the side window. If that works, that would be killer. I'm guessing the major drawback would be winter boarding, but wind is a crazy thing, so it might not make a difference.

That wake looks really good!! Considering that it only had the 900lbs and the wedge, that's nice. Just think if you were to add about another 1500lbs, the wake would just plain SICK!! I'm sold!

actually it would be 1900 lbs with wedge. But I agree the wake looks good. I run more than that in my Moomba LSV and the wake is similar. Somebody buy one and I will meet you somewhere and we can do a true life side to side comparison. (Message edited by hillbilly on January 23, 2009)

Yes sir, around the dock the windshield makes it way easier to hold the boat in place and grab the dock. I honestly could tell little if no difference in the amount of wind that pasted into the driver seat. The way the boat handled and the amount of power the boat had was unbeliaveble and i don't think it would have any problem getting an extra 1500lbs on plane.

I was only referring to extra water weight. Now if you put in about 2500 of ballast, and the wedge I'm thinking it would be big and nice.

Man, that grab bar on the passengers side in pic '08' looks like it would "leave a mark" if you got rocked into it! Why do you need that there in the first place??? Outside of that, wake looks pretty sweet.

Yes it was at lake Lewisville, but not Ricky. After ridding behind the boat i think is it a very good deal for 39-40k. You get everything that you need to have a core wakeboarding boat at a fraction of the price. Stock the boat comes with a ton of stuff that is extra on other base model boats and even more so you have malibu backing them 100%. Just my .02

Jason Randal is not going to say anything bad about the boat that sponsors him. What do you think would happen if word got out that Randall said the boat is a POS. The wake does looks nice but it does not make up for the rest of the boat.

I doubt Randall could tell the difference cuz they are pretty much the same boat. People crack me up. There is such offense taken by Axis claiming to be "price point", no they are not giving the boat away but if you can get VLX performance for $10-20k less and still have most of the creature comforts, then what is there to complain about? Do wakeboarders have that much entitlement? Personally I like the idea of a cheaper new boat, it just gives us all another option. Perhaps MC or CC will join the party SC created and Malibu has been hanging at. We as riders and consumers win then. Poser, know anyone that could put together a test ride?

I agree with Randal on this one. We have a 08 vlx and i feel the wakes on the axis were just as good as the vlx. Coming from a core ridding point of view i think axis hit the nail on the head with this one.

It would be interesting if this boat truelysells for this price. After hearing MC's attempt at selling an X1 at this price and Epics price of 50k, none have seemed to hold to these price points. By the way does that price include a trailer?

I've said it before. Those who want a new boat for under 30k need to be looking at I/O's. It's a v-drive fully loaded with a kick ass wake for 40k-45k. That's trailer, stereo with tower speakers, cruise control and built in under the floor hard tank ballast. Does Moomba or Tige have hard tank under the floor ballast in any of their boats?

Axis without a doubt, I saw both at the boatshow. Even as stripped down as the axis is it's still nicer than the outback series moomba puts out. The wake on the axis will be 10X better as well. (Message edited by 05mobiuslsv on January 25, 2009)

Raleigh show had a 09 ride21 for 48k....doesn't seem that the AXIS is a whole lot cheaper. No it wasn't stripped either, but it wasn't loaded up. no front ballast(N/A)/heater/shower/tower speakers.
