Damn! You hit a measly little log, and BAM! You're boat is no good anymore. Well, if its true, consider these 2 items as my personal boat-warming presents:

I guess that would explain the recent Sequoia purchase. It is a bit overkill for an X-1.

The new Toyota Sequoia isn't much of a tow vehicle? Have you driven one yet? Have you experienced the new i-force V8? The thing rocks! And will pull an X-1 with authority! Just an FYI.

"You sure toyota isn't much of a tow vehicle." You must be crazy. 381 HP and over 400 lbs of torque will pull a boat with no problem at all. (Message edited by HeHateMe on October 23, 2008)

Horsepower and torque is only part of the equation...at least to anyone trying to pull out or drop in a boat with 1k in lead on a slippery ramp. It takes some weight to get traction.

The beauty of the LR3 is that when we venture into the Hispanic parts of town, I can raise & lower the suspension so we fit in...

I have a Honda Ridgeline. It pulls our X-Star out of the water with 2000 pounds of stationary ballast in it, no problem. All about traction. Those new Toyotas are beasts!!

More like 7500. 4200# boat, 2000# ballast, 1200-1500# trailer plus gas and gear. I would bet even more than 7500#.

I can confirm, Ewing...yes she does! It does good on the ramp. Before I tow the boat home, or to the dealership, I'm sure to empty every bit of weight I can. It does fine on the freeway, but struggles a little on the Vasco hills. Luckly I don't need to haul the boat around very often. It's rated as a half ton, but definitely not quite as heavy duty as an american 1/2 on.

Haha GRAMPS, don't want to lose our visiting rights and all. Rode behind it for the first time today and finally got some pics for you. Shout out to Brad and the team at Bay Watersports for great customer service. He wasn't kidding when he told us he would make us an offer we couldn't refuse. Super stoked for the new ride:

Very nice. Is it a SS or does it just have the galvy trailer. Damn I love Xstars. Not to be telling you what to do with your boat but you should get some custom numbers put on that boat. A boat that beautiful deserves upgraded numbers. (Message edited by polarbill on October 26, 2008)

Why wouldn't the dog come with? She's part of the family, and the extra bow space is purely for her enjoyment. She is diggin' the bigger seats for sure. Hopefully, we'll have the additional ballast installed by next weekend. Anyone know what stock is? I have read anywhere from 800#-1200#. (Message edited by jess on October 27, 2008)

Mastercraft doesn't need to brag about ballast like some with claims of 1000+ lbs plus widgets hanging off the back... They just make a solid boat that will take the wieght you feed it with a great wake. Adding wieght is more of a personal touch with riders.
