What pump is best used with the mercruiser engine to suck out the oil from the crankcase. I dont have the handi drain system thats connected to the oil pan, so I have to suck it out through the dip stick tube.

I used this for 5 years on my Sanger V210 with a merc engine, works great. Shop around you can probably find it cheaper

The Moeller is the same http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producte/10001/-1/10001/268534/377%20710/0/moeller/Primary%20Search/mode%20matchallpartial/0/0?N=377%20710&Ne=0&Ntt=moeller&Ntk=Primary%20Searc h&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&Nao=0&Ns=0&keyword=mo eller&isLTokenURL=true&storeNum=6&subdeptNum=169&c lassNum=170

The nice thing with these are that with the Mercruiser it screws right onto the dipstick hole.

I use the moeller pump. Like Hate said, it comes with an attachment that screws on to the merc dipstick hole. Its easy to use and works well, I would definitely recommend this pump.

Is the Handi-Drain a gold plug on the back of the boat next to the regular plug? I have one that is a gold plug next to my drain plug that has a wire connected to it and it goes somewhere into the engine. I don't change my oil due to the wonderful yr extended warranty of Mercruiser...sigh...
I always wondered what it went to. I figured it had to be some kind of quick drain for something...

Sounds like it could be Greg but it would have a hose that pulls out the back.

I use the Moeller and it attaches to the garden hose threads on the dip stick tube. The larger tube allows oil to be removed faster.

I use the Pela6000 and have zero complaints. I would just stay away from those electric or drill type pumps as they are messier and I have had trouble getting them primed.
