Just upgraded from the old 86 and now have a 2000 Wakesetter VLX. Going to be a long winter. But questions. For winterizing, am I ok with Rotella 15w40 oil instead of the Pennzoil Marine 15w40? The local walmart carries pretty much all the right weight oils (tranny, vdrive and motor) but no Pennzoil. No local places carry it either. Or is there a big diffence in the oils?
Also, thinking I will need a boat lift since I want to keep the boat nice. Is there a certain recommendation on capacity of lift I shoudl look for. I see dry weight is roughly 2900 (I think) but shoudl I look for a 3600lb lift, or go bigger?

Pennzoil blows. Use the Rotella if your on a budget. Most mechanics use Valvoline (or Napa is the same). Or Mobil 1 at the high end.

Go 4000 lb on the boat lift. Remember it will get loaded with gas, gear & people on board.

Nice ride. You'll love it.
