The season is coming to an end. I know some ride year round but what tricks have you accomplished this season? And what are you goals for next season? This season: Consistent heelside backroll Several grabs TS W2W Switch 180's one wake. I know not very impressive but last season I just learned w2w. Next season: TS Invert hs 3 Tantrum Ride switch comfortably

After one season I have only got my heelside W2W done. However, I had been riding behind a 30 year old outboard. I bought a V drive last month and I've almost got my toeside W2W done. I hope to get it and a 180 in before the season is over.

I'm 42. This is my first season and I'm hooked. I started with a POS board. I just got a CWB board from the classifieds here, and Zeus bindings from EVO. My 4th time out I'm able to ride normal and switch, and go across the wake both directions HS. Next season I'll be working on TS. I'm not sure how crazy I plan on getting, but I know I want to at least go wake to wake with some air. What did I do wrong? I can't see my pic. (Message edited by makinroost on October 03, 2008)

Amazing Andy. I learned a Toe front 5 three weeks ago in two tries. This week I learned a Heel back 360 in 4 tries. I learned a few new grabs and pokes. Got my Heel 5 semi consistent. Learned to take toeside tricks into the flats. Getting closer on a batwing, and I still want to get the Toe back 180 before the season ends.

lets see, im basically throwin alot of different tricks, and havent really concentrated on landing any one of them for any length of time. I'm real close on the following inverts: toeside and healside backrolls (i stopped doin these cuz i came up short a few times and sprained my ankle) HS tantrum HS frontroll unfortunately, the closest I came was popping the handle on a HS frontroll. I'm pretty frusterated with my performance this year not having nailed one single invert. as for spins, I have consistent frontside 180s down, toe and heal, and can take them real big on heal. I have toeside and healside jumps down with a variety of grabs, definately my favorite tricks to do on a wakeboard cuz it feels like snowboarding. I have landed a few 3's this year, and popped the handle multiple times on wrapped heelside 5's. This is my second year riding behind a boat with any wake, previous boat was a 13 foot boston whaler dinghy. So I'm frusterated, but there is always next year.

This was my second season and my season is pretty much over, 1. I got all my heelside grabs besides a nuclear 2. HS 180s w2s with slob, mute, and nose grabs 3. TS W2W, so akward at first but now I like toeside a lot more 4. TS w2w 180s with front hand grabs 5. Back hand grabs on my ts jumps 6. Air rolls at the cable park (haven't ridden behind the boat since i learned those but I'm going to try the backroll next time I get too) And I'm so close on TS 3's it's almost frustrating, even if I don't open up my chest to the boat when i land, Ill open it up right after i land and just fall over, it looks lame and its frustrating.

1. Brought back the heel 5 and got a grab on it. 2. Made the heel front big and consistant. 3. Mute toe 3 from w2w to into the flats 4. landed my whole bag, in order, w/o falling... about 4 or 5 times this summer... that is probably what I stoked the most about... getting consistancy on some of the harder tricks like hs 5s, hs front, switch bs1. -uj

THread JACKING******** J-Rod I got the TS BS spin secret! For me anyway I really do the opposite of what I do on a TS FS Spin on my Toe Backsides. I have the rope out away from my front hip opposed to in thight. That way I can really advance myself at the boat when I am in the Air. Soon as I break off the wake I pull in with both arms Hard towards my front hip/small of my back. Doing this breaks the line tension and allows me to grab the handle with ease. The hardest part about TS BS spins is getting over the mental game of how unnatural that spin is. Hope that helps a little!

That does help, because I already had it planned out how I was going to aproach the wake with the handle in close to my hip! haha. I will definitely try your way first. Thanks buddy.

J-Rod A lot of people do them with the rope in tight, I find it harder to spin past 180 if its in tight. Trevor Hansen is the one who told me to do them that way, I would trust his opinion! HAHAHAH

Clean HS backrolls into the flats TS W2W TS 180s Lots of grab variations with pokes! Before the season ends: HS BS 180's More clean grabs More switch riding This was definitely my best season. I had all of these tricks last season. I wanted to focus this season on cleaning everything up and add style to my riding. It feels so good to grab tricks and hold it for a long time then stomp the landing in the flats. I have been practicing my HS BS 180s off of the back of the wake and landing blind, I am ready to take them w2w. I was trying them w2w last year and caught my back edge, next thing I remembered was my wife yelling at me to not mess around. It knocked me stupid, definitely the hardest fall I have ever taken. I love this sport!

Havent done much work this yr, Grabbing heel 5's and back 3's Grabbing toe 3's and toe 5's as well. Grabbing Front to Fakies nose and added a few grabs to my batwing such as seatbelt and tail. Can take them to fakie as well Learned a cab glide, Toe back 1 and grabbed toe back 1. Almost stuck a heel backside 5 last night, landed and rode away for a second and just popped the handle! Gonna stick it today. Have been pretty close to some crow mobes and need to work on getting my indy tantrum to blind back. This winter I want to hit a heel 7 and switch heel 7, going to take my toe back 1's to toe back 3 and learn switch toe back 1's and switch toe back 3's, want to try some tootsie rolls and batwings to blind as well. Havent had much progression this yr compared to previous yrs but have gained a ton more style. Landing the back 5 will help me gain momentum to break into the double handle pass and mobe world!

Impressive Tim...that's quite a list. Unfortunately my entire season was plagued with nagging injuries so I didn't learn nearly as many new things as I wanted to. Here's the new stuff I learned this summer: TS Front Roll HS Back Roll 2 Revert TS Back Roll 2 Revert Tantrum TS FS 360 TS FS 540 Krypt Hoochie Krypt Grabbing my HS 3's Switch TS w2w HS BS 180 1 wake Started doing more various grabs on my HS 180s Started doing more various grabs on my TS jumps Started adding some more style and shifty's to my HS grabs I hope to still add a melon grab to my Scarecrows yet this year. I also want to take my HS BS 180s w2w. We'll see how the weather cooperates though. (Message edited by ironj32 on October 04, 2008)

These lists are crazy funny sometimes. How are people learning TS BS 3's when they can't do HS r2r's?! I guess it is a lot about what you are good at and what you practice. I've seen a guy that could do a raley, backroll and TS backroll but couldn't do a bunny hop 180. I'm not even kidding and wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. That was your boat Bill M. on the river in 2001! I had seen others with 8 inverts but can't do tantrums. I have also seen people do BS 5's and HS and TS 7's but can't do raleys, HS fronts, etc. (Message edited by eubanks01 on October 09, 2008)

yeah, some ppl. just prefer to do diff. tricks...i think i can do a hs backroll, but i haven't tried in about 6 years. in those six years i have learned so many "better" feeling tricks like ts rolls, bs spins,sw. tantrums, etc etc...as an example i had a 7 before i had a BS 180...i'm kind of a hucker though, so makes sense. thats whats beauty about our sport, you can excel at diff. aspects as long as your havin fun.

Yeah, I agree but at least you had learned the backroll. You might not throw it now but you were able to do them at some point. It is strange the combination some people have in their bag.

Jarrett Cody in Grapevine has got a ton of inverts and BS 3 ect..... He refuses to do any 180's because he took a banger a couple of years ago. Most tricks are just in your head for some reason. I have accomplished fully tearing my ACL on a half cab roll. :X

I knew a kid that had a Tantrum, BR, and Whirly, but no 180s and no TS jump except for a Scarecrow. To give him some credit it was his first summer of riding and he was 14. I am sure he is a much more well rounded rider these days.

Heelside Fronts TS indy shiftys and several new HS grabs Grabbed a few Indy Tantrums, but not consistant enough to include them in my "learned tricks this year" and I took out 911's and Raileys out of my tricks. I was starting to get inconsistant on them after having them down for years. I just don't ride enough anymore I guess.

Started out with Clay getting super close to KGB's then Scoot tried some heel 7's and got super close. My last set started trying the back 5 and shoulda had everyone of em and was getting tired then manage to stick one!!! It was amazing, linked toe 5, heel 5, switch heel 5 and then back 5. Landed it and looked up at the boat and Clay and Scoot were both standing on the platform about to jump in. Gregg had his fists in the air and it was possibly one of the coolest moments ever. Gonna learn it switch now and attempt to link all the 5's and it will be the Arby's 5 for 5 special _________________
