You should go drive a Maristar sometime. I never cared for them much. Slow out of the hole and a lot of the bow going up & down over an opposing boat's wake. Weighted right this might go away, but it still drove like a tugboat.
Definitely not Jack. Which is why I'd suggest you go drive a few of them. You will notice some big differences in how different brand v-drives drive/handle.
Just the same as cars or I/O boats there are big differences in the handling and the wake characteristics of different v-drive boats. You want to drive a few or ride behind some. If you test drive a couple of different new major brand boats to get an idea of what you might expect, or ride with people you know, then you have a reference when you take a test drive in the one you might want to buy.
The x-10 is not a 200 vrs it is a 210 maristar and the x-30 is a 230 maristar not a 225 vrs. the 200vrs and 225 vrs are different hulls than the 210 and 230 maristar which are the x-10 and x-30.
I'm with J-Rod on this. No and No. AMF was making the boats then, didn't handle well, not a good wake! I had an X10 never made a good wake.. Mastercraft, great boats, but you could a btter wake producer for those $ G
i had one for 5 year (1995 225vrs LT1) we never got the wake steeper it will stay rampy.it can get massive but without a lip. But even back then('99),guys were throwing mobes etc behind that boat.It feels kind of sluggisch but we had good times with that boat. The vrs 225 is better than the 200 vrs.P.s if you add alot of wieght make sure the rubrail on the swimplatform is in good shape,..mine was taking alot of water thru that rubrail.I had to remove it and seal it again.
it is a big boat with lots of space but if you are stucked on a budget try to look for a prostar 205V smaller boat but weighted down a better wake than the 225vrs. i have lots of footage (big files) pm if you are intrested good luck.
