Just watched the trailers to Thats It, Thats All. Thought I'd open up the can of worms with a thread. So, you and 5 buddies-2 sets each and some random hotties, a full day of glass on your fav lake or river. Orrrrr..... Those same 5 buddies and 2 feet of Fresh - 12-15 runs at a dope resort like Squaw or Kirkwood. One caveat, if you've never ridden powder your opinion does not count. And I mean POWDER, not some 4 inches of slush on bunny hills. Bring it on Ladies and Gentlemen!!!!

pow hands down!!!! Its the best drug ever! I tell people all the time i love being on the boat with some peeps that love to ride chillin and taking sets. But the rush of droping off a cornice into 3 ft of pow and knowing if you fall it may be over for you is mind numbing. Its the best high in the world!

a full day of glass and random chicks for sure. think about it. your up on the mountain with the girls thinking the whole time what kind of body they have under those thick pants and jackets and if your out on the water you've got them down to nothing pretty much already. i'll go for the bikini girls all day long hahaha. i do love a nice day in the powder though.

two feet of fresh is a tough call. 3 feet+ and you gotta take the snow. Especially if it's super cold. The deep fluffy powder days in the trees are few and far between for me. I haven't been getting enough of that.

For me it all comes down to the feeling. Stop for a second and think back to your last powder run. Backcountry...standing at the top of the mountain...it is *silent*. Then you start cruising and the only noise is your jacket brushing trees and the swoosh of the board. Man, sometimes I hate it that I left CO. Thanks for the memory Jarrod.

Only 2 sets each? No way... ride all day. I had a blast hitting the powder down here in NZ for the first time a few weeks ago, but I'd have to go for the glass.

How dare you pow fiends sully the offer of a glassy lake?!?! I'll take berryessa cottage cheese over powder any day of the week for sure, I'll take my sesion from earlier today of the crowded-and-windy-sacramento-river-catching-my-back-edge-tubers-throwin-thier-rollers-every-where-in-the-one-good-spot-not-landin-anything-set over fresh powder any day. let me semi-hijack this thread with this question: Would you rather be a professional wakeboarder or snowboarder? [ not taking into acount money or iconic status, just to make it fair...] now you think about what you've said!

being that pro snowboarders get more publicity and bigger payouts at comps (was @ the vans tahoe cup this past winter and the total purse was $200,000), etc, etc,...not to mention it's involvement in the Winter Olympics AND the X-Games, If i had to choose, I would be a pro snowboarder. dont get me wrong, wakeboarding has a dope ass scene and is fun as hell but snowboarding does just a little more for me...

yea I was gonna say somethin, in the end it comes down to, snow vs. water, boat vs. ski lift, sun vs. cold, Cali/Florida vs. Virginia, drivin to the launch vs. tire chains, bikinis vs. snow bunnies, and wakeboarding wins all of those rounds.

Snowboarding with your boys in the back woods is so awesome. I love riding close with friends, sharing lines, blasting off the natural hits formed by rocks or whatever, and then there's the little breaks you take in between powder runs....... Love the snowboarding culture.

I'm gonna go with POW too - can't wait. They are way too far and few in between for me now. But nothing beats endless runs with your friends til your legs are shot. BUT- a 100* plus day on Vic's with no other boats and 3-4 riding buddies is always an A+ day for me as well.

Let's see: a truly epic bluebird powder day (which conditions typically occur only 5-10 days at most per season (sometimes less) and are totally weather depedent) over a glassy, warm water day (which I can pretty much get any time I want to skip work)? The equation may get a little closer if you guaranteed an epic wakeboard set or two with a new trick and a couple big dubs, but still not that close.

has anyone here ever had one of those days on knights landing? you're ridin straight butter for days and days, then you turn a corner, and more butter! it's a ride that seems to just keep going. seems to me that there is far more stress invovled in snowboarding, the only stress in wakeboarding is pumpin gas, but when everyone throws down, it's all good. hit up knights landing, cut out and chill in a cuff slide, it's therapudic. I enjoy powder, but nothin, and I mean nothin beats a good day on the water, nothin beats a sub-par day on the water.

Considering the fact that we have glass all day here in Pittsburgh and we never get any fresh powder at our local mountain, I want to say powder, but I can't... There is something about sitting on a boat in the warm weather that is just amazing. I will have to say that after living in Florida for 22 years, I am enjoying the seasons. Snowboarding in the winter makes Wakeboarding in the summer more enjoyable.

Tons more stress in wakeboarding, much more than just pumping gas (boat, driver, PP, waiting your turn). The one area snow has wake beat is with friends, you can all ride at the same time. The only thing in snow is the lift and if it has a line. And butter is good, but nothing beats a good dump and fresh tracks.

i'd need 4 feet of powder to be swayed, very rarely have i snowmobiled where 4 feet of fresh had just fallen, but once up on a 10,000 foot pass that the groomer had just run leaving 4 foot high walls, i was headed downhill and throttled the sled up to 45 or 50 and cranked it into the "wall" only to disappear completely into the white wall, then cut back towards the road and pop out of the wall back onto the groomed. it was insane submarine snowmobiling. i needed a snorkel. I will still take the glass on a 100 degree day with bikini babes on the barefoot boat.
