I'm tired of ridding behind my dad's old outboard. I'm 90% sure I'm going to start looking for an older, 1999, Mastercraft 205V. Can anyone share there opinions on the hull? Also, some pictures would be GREAT! I'm having a hard time finding any of the interior.

I started riding behind a 1994 ProStar 205, very nice wake with weight!

the 205v is arguably one of the best hulls ever made. It is the hull of the old x-star and now the x-1. There is nothing that can go wrong with this wake. I had an 01 xstar (205v) hull and my wake was unreal, better than my super air wake. GO FOR IT.

its great we put 400 pounds in the back and 300 in the front

I have a 2000 205V and love it. The 99 has the old observer seat like a direct drive and the 2000 on has the wrap around seat which is much nicer for comfort and storage. I ski and my kids wakeboard and we all surf. It is not the best at any of them but is great for an all around boat.

I had a 99 205V. The hull and wake were great. The only problem with a 99 is that the interior is lacking in quality. The vinyl is very thin and rips easy. The carpet just plain sucks. The Drivers seat is uncomfortable and there is no wrap around seat in in the 99. However these problems described were fixed in 2000 and later boats. If you are getting a hell of a deal I would get a 99 however if you have a little more cash get an 2000 or newer. By the way everything else about the 99 was great. The powertertrain and major components took and absolute beating from me and my crew and we never had any problems. All problems with that year were cosmetic

As stated 205 is a great hull and boat.We have a 94 and wieghted right has great wake. Fantastic choice for entry level and beyond. We have had some great riders on the boat and never a complaint. Our interior ect.. has held up great as well(avg 150-200hrs per season)

What are you calling a large crew? I thought the boat was rated for 11 people. How many fit comfortably? 90% of the time it would be 3-4 adults. The most might be 6 adults and 2-4 small children.
