Is it a stereo no no to have different brands of amps on different components of stereo equipment. I have a JL 6450 for interior and a JL e1400 that is going to be to small for my 12w6 sub. My buddy at the stereo shop scolded me for wanting to add a boston GT 24 to my fusions speakers, and a Alpine 1.600 for the 12w6.

I know its not pretty but who see the amps really?
I'll call it my quilt patch stereo yeeeeehaaaaww

I have 2 JL amps and 1 Diamond in mine

No its not a huge no no but the chances of noise and other minor annoying issues typically are lowered by using similar components.

not a big deal with quality gear...your adding pretty high quality gear (boston make decent stuff and i have heard really good things about that alpine amp)

sometimes shops will say that to sell you gear that they have.
