If you have a mono amp that puts out the most wattage and 2 ohms and 1 ohm what type sub needs to be matched or how does it need to be wired?
Thanks

do what? What sub needs to be matched to an amp that puts out 750 watts at 2ohms

Your best bet will be to finda dual voice coil sub with 4 ohm voice coils. wire in parallel...you'll show the amp the 2ohm load.

Look for a sub that can be wired to 2ohm's and will run on 500 to 700 watts RMS. It's better have one a little over powered then way under powered. If a sub of this output is out of your budget, then get one that can be wired to 4ohms and match it to the amps 4 ohm output.

ok obviously these mono amps have the most power at 1 ohm what type sub matches with that? I have heard it is damaging to run at one ohm. Is this true?

It's not uncommon for a mono amp to be stable @ 1ohm, and also common for the 1ohm and 2ohm specs to be about the same. Either way, chose a sub with a matching RMS spec to the amp at "X" ohm load.

So, for example, if it puts out 750 watts rms @ 1 ohm, then go with a 2ohm DVC sub that is rated at around 750 watts rms. If the subs 1 ohm and 2 ohm output is the same, then go with a 4 ohm DVC that has the same rating.

Always try to match the sub and amp's RMS specs, but the speaker's impedance determines the amp's output.

What amp are you running that would help us out. I prefer to over power subs. For instance my sub is 600RMS/3000MAX and I run 1200 at it.

I'd do as the others say and just go 2 OHMS so your amp can run cooler and more effeciently.

thats what ive decided to do 2ohm at 750 watts on the amp and L5 12 with 4ohm dual voice coil

model numbers and more specific ino would help as well. and are they both same quality stuff? I mean amps that do the power they claim, and cleanly- NOT WLS power (when lightning strikes)
