What's the best prop & pitch for a 96 prostar 205? The boat has the lt1 motor and I usually run about 1400lbs of ballast & 5 -7 people. Thanks alot.

I am not sure but I wonder if that is my old boat. I sold it to a guy in Augusta in the spring of '07 and it had a New Deminsion tower, LT1, and I gave him 3 fat sacs and a tsuanmi pump... it was whit with a black stripe.

What transmission does the boat have? The size of the current prop?

I did buy it new and in 98' the rear main seal went in the motor and it blew... no fault of my own, and it was 1 month out of warranty, but luckily insurance covered it and it has run like a top since. Make sure you change the impellar every year or so, I had a spare that I gave to Chad... it is an easy swap and better to have one and be able to swap it out on the water than over heat... I am glad to hear she has a good home. It was a very sad day to see her go, but then a happy day to pick up a new one....

Oh, David it was always stored indoors for the time that I owned it '96 to '07... I added the tower in '05. that hull is the same as the 1st X-Stars I believe. If you ever have any questions feel free to contact me....

I did have a question Billy... do you happen to still have the snap in piece that went in right below the windshield and seperated the bow?? Thanks a lot. David

I had the ACME 543 on my 1993 Prostar 205
It was a direct drive, with the gt40 285 HP it made a big differance.

Call acme, or OJ and talk to them, they are very helpful.

you can tell them what altitude you are at, what engine, and how much weight and they can dial you right in.

Thanks Mike. I will try that. Eric, I'm not sure what transmission it has to be honest or the current prop. I'm gonna look tomorrow morning if it stops raining and see.
