Basically looking for the cheapest jet ski out there that can deep water start a rider. I know absolutely nothing about them. How many CCs? Year? Anything to look for or out for specifically?

Thanks all

You will probably want at least 750cc's, and in CA it has to be a 3 seater to tow anybody, because the driver, flagger, and rider all have to be able to board the vessel. We have a 96 Sea Doo GTI that we used to tow with that worked perfect.

+1 for Yamaha. You won't find a better built watercraft

Sea Doo 4 tech came out in 2002. (155) hp does great job

Sea Doo We've had 2 GTX's, an 05 RXP and RXT, and now we have a new RXP-x and RXT-x and they were all great. If you just need one to tow an rxp/t would be over the top but definetly fun look for a 2000 millenium edition GTX.

My '04 Sea Doo GTI pops me up with ease and it has the 780cc single carb engine. Jets skis are a little hard to maintain speed on so I can't imagine having 150hp would make it any easier.

Sorry my mistake was 2000. The 4 strokes hold speed better than the 2 strokes. The 4 Tech has a little bigger hull than the GTI. We have pulled everything behind a GTI though.
