clarion radio question.....

I have a CMD4 head unit that I have hooked up to a EA1251 Ipod control unit. I was wanting to upgrade to a CMD5 head unit but in looking online they are saying that I have to upgrade to the EA1276. Has anyone used a EA1251 with a CMD5?
Just curious?

I'm not 100% sure but I believe it will work, the CMD4 and CMD5 have the same Cnet socket.

You may want to upgrade anyway, the EA1276 will give almost complete control through the Ipod instead of the H/U seeing it as a CD changer.

I have a brand new CMD5 for sale.
I wanted to upgrade to a CMD5 also, so i snagged one, then found out it won't fit (CMD5 sits deeper in the dash than the CMD4).
