We are heading up to trinity lake for labor day and just wanted to hear if anyone hade been there lately. I know the water level is low (every where is - we can't even launch @ oroville anymore). I called and they said that the lake is down 70 feet but the boat ramp will go down to 140 feet. It looks like it is a big lake and was just ondering where the best spots are.

We usually go camping at Trinity for 2 weeks every year but we canceled cause of the smoke from all the fires up there. You can find glass pretty much anywhere on the lake until about noon when the wind picks up. If you are camping stay at Hayward flat and ride in that arm of the lake, which seems to stay nice the longest. If on houseboat, park it in the back of Buckeye. The water level should be fine. It will be low, but its a big lake and plenty deep.

I forgot, here is a webcam of the upper lake to check out the conditions.

My family and I were up 8/4 - 8/9 and launched out of Cedar Stock (launch ramp down to one lane) and stayed on a houseboat on the East Stuart Fork. Nice water there if you get up before everyone else otherwise head up the main channel towards Trinity Center and you should be able to find nice water (the wind does come up) and fewer boats.
The fires were still burning while we were there but the air quality was fine and should have improved even more by now.

Thanks for the info. We are staying in a cabin and I am hoping that it's not too far to the marina with the low water.

My parents are there now and they say its prity low. I am not going this year but have been going to Trinity for over 20 yrs. Great Lake!! If you are staying at the cabins up at Wyntoon you may not be able to use the launch ramp at Trinity Center due to the low water condition. The good news is the lower the water leval the better the water condition due to more wind blockage
