I have a 98 SS/SAN and i've owned it for about 2 months now. I'm just curious does anyone else's boat sit in the water and lean to the right? I'm not talking about with someone in the driver's seat, but even with no one in the boat. This boat came with dual batteries and they are both located on the starboard side under the engine hatch in the storage area. Is this my cause or is that not enough weight? If so should i move them or one of them to the port side? when i have ppl in the boat it ends up sitting level but i always have to tell more ppl to sit on the port side to correct this problem. Thanks alot in advance.

Jeff

In general I wouldn't worry about this. But yep - no real answer to this one aside from what you already deduced. You could go nuts getting the thing to sit level (although technically it really shouldn't list). Is there anything else you can think of that would cause it to list aside from the battery - which could do it on its own but not by much. Any significant equipment, stereo stuff - tools - anything that you could move around?

I'm sure it's the batteries....just get a counterweight for the port side.

Mine does the same thing, I counter it, and it does level the boat out by adding an 85lbs. SL ballast bag to the port side. Might move one battery to the other side this winter.

Jeffee, maybe there's just a bunch of empty Zima and Fuzzy Navel bottles that you left in there from the 4th... or a boxer dog could be hiding under the dash. That happens from time to time.
