I love the witness board, but after using mine at the cable for only a week, the fins are pretty tore up (this is expected). I know the grind bases still get pretty tore up, but they last a little longer it seems like. Does anyone 'in the know' know if they're planning on making a witness grind next season?

Not sure about a grind base in 09 but have you looked at the Substance grind? It will ride similar to the witness.

I rode a substance and I would say it does not ride similar at all, and it's probably my least favorite board so far. :-)

If you look in the new WBM they show the underside of a LF grindbase strapped to Benny G

sorry this is off topic but what did u think of the substance compared to the witness? I ride the witness without the fin in the middle and im curious to try the substance.

I don't like the way that the substance edges and I think it feels much less stable than the witness. I ride the witness at the cable and use it without the center fin, but I can't comment on how it rides behind the boat (I ride a gator legend w/o center fin behind the boat).

LF can put a grind base on any board they want so the pros all have grind bases even though they dont have a grind series. like steel laffrey has a regular looking watson and it has a grind base. but I am sure they will bring it back next year.

I'd really like to try the Witness 144. How does it compare to the Shane 140?
