Well yesterday I finally got the nerve to try and go for a backroll. I quickly learned the importance of holding the handle with two hands. I don't know why I let go but as you can see I screwed myself from the start. Well I guess that means I just get to practice more..

Good pics man, keep us updated on future attempts. I too am trying these, the trick looks so easy and then when I approach the wake the 17 things I'm supposed to do all hit me like a ton of bricks and I'm lucky to even wait long enough to get decent height...I usually huck the trick in the trough. Unfortunately, knowing everything that you are supposed to do and convincing my 33 year old body to do those things is a whole different ball o' wax.

Keep the pics coming. Maybe we can learn this together.
Loren, this stuff really hurts at 53.

yup, hold on with both hands and look over your right shoulder. Let go with your right when you're are coming down to do a revert. I actually think roll to revert is way easier

What Benjamin said, plus keep the handle tight into your leading hip.
