hey got my 07 xstar with the new ly6 400hp engine and it has the 14x14 prop

my question is with full wieght i am doin between 3900 - 4100 rpm it seems really high too me? also burning alot of gas!

what i was thinking is that maybe the "magic" 14x14 prop is not good for this engine and it would do better with a lower pitch prop?!

anyone have experiance with this engine?

Dan,

Not sure if this helps or not, but my 06 XStar with the same prop and the MCX was running around 3800 at 23mph and 2800lbs. I'm not sure of the differences between the two engines RPMs under normal operation, but either a quick call to Indmar might help to determine what RPMs to expect.
