I was looking at buying a used one of these, and I was wondering if anybody could give me some input on the board. I've read the reviews on here but I was just curious if anybody else had any experiences with it, good or bad. (Message edited by Turnquist on February 08, 2007)

Well one really nice thing is that its essentially the same shape as an 06 or 07. I've been riding the Absolute since 2004 and each new ever since. The 2005 was a big step up IMO. The newer shapes have longer, thinner molded fins and create very little drag. The board rides really slow especially with no center fins, the attitude is a very nose high ride that rides up the largest of wakes. Personally I love the board, it pops real clean, spins great, has soft landings and is incredibly forgiving. A true freeride shape. Personally I love it & haven't found anything I like anywhere near as much. Give it a shot.

You could go either way on sizes..... I'm 6'0 160 and I rode the 141, but was at the lower end of that size spectrum. I think you should be fine.... BTW, I had a '05. Great board. I had a lot of great sets on it. I actually kinda preferred the older ones, but the '05 was nice too. I only liked the older ones better because they were faster. The pop on the '05 is awesome.

135 is about right. Its all preference. Bigger boards usually land softer and smaller boards are usually lighter and are easier to spin. Go demo some boards and you'll understand what i mean.

Only rode the 05 one time, but seemed to have tons of pop and soft landings.

I'm 5'8" and weight 150 and ride the 135. Geez, am I fat? The 141 feels too big for me. Plus I like a shorter board.

Ya Im not really to sure on what I want to do, but the board would be about 120 bucks which seems like a pretty good price to me, so im tempted to just buy it.

At that price, you cant go wrong. Use it for a year or so, then when you get a little heavier, switch up to the 141. BTW, I'm 5'7" @ 165 and I use the 05 141 Plat, and it's perfect for my size and style. Big Heavy, 5'8" @ 150 How did you get that name? JK, lol....

Yeah, you're right in between sizes. You could really go either way. You may find the bigger board a bit sluggish. I usually try to ride the bigger sizes because of better landings, but the smaller boards generally pop better for me and feel lighter in the air. And yes.... I'm only 160. Ha, ha. When I was hitting the gym 6 times a week at school I never got over 170. That was with as many protein shakes, chicken breasts and potatoes as I could eat. I guess I'll always be a lightweight. LOL!!!

I guess that's why you get 10 feet of air behind your boat and I only get 3 feet (if that) behind it. Ha, ha. Guess I should drop some lbs. before the season starts.........lol. By the way, I'm 6'5" and 205 lbs. and I have the 141 Absolute Platinum. I think it's a great board and would recommend it to anyone.
