WW surfers-

I was hoping to gain some insight into a new board recommendation for me. I know I've seen topics before, but as every person is unique, I thought I'd get some additional insight from you... Any input is appreciated.

I'm 6'1" and 200lbs. I currently have a Blue Lake which is nice and fast but I can't get it spin and do surface tricks so well. I want another board that isn't too difficult and squirlely but will allow me to do surface tricks and spins, and climb along the progression of new tricks. I'm guessing more of a skim style board will be more appropriate.

Any ideas for models? Size? Pricing? Links? Etc.

Thank you kindly!!!

Ben, I've ridden the IS Blue, that's a really good board. I think your assessment is about right; a skim board will break free and spin more easily.

I haven't successfully pulled off a 3 yet. I can spin, I just haven't stayed in the pocket, I was getting close at the end of the season, next season I'll pull off a 3, I can feel it.

I have spun an IS Yellow, but it was a little hard to break free. I have a trick Boardz Mojo XL. I spin the Mojo very easily, but the XL is really too large for me. I rode the next size down Mojo and spun about a 540 very easily, too bad I keep falling out of the wake.

I've ridden a few skim boards, a Zap, a Victoria, and a home made board. Unfortunately I didn't try a three on those boards.

ben,

your current board is a great fish...very fast and easy to ride...

i would look at a "skim style".. i have tried all the phase 5's and they lag far behind the walzer(i am a bit partial to them since i own one)..

super light weight, incredible construction (get the upgraded kevlar), and will go as far as you want it to..

I would try the inland surfer yellow loogy and orange phlegm. The yellow is 4'5" and the orange is 4'2"
