do you guys think changing a 142 thermo for a 160 will make a noticable difference in the heater? If you have done this was it worth it?

would like my heater to kick a little hotter and was told this would be great?

I cahnged mine to a 160 and at the same time fitted the heater craft Y piece which improves flow at idle.

Made a huge difference and well worth it.

y piece?

Is the thermo a stock part I could pick up at an auto parts store or is it marine spec?

Fuel injected engines need a correct spec thermostat, to run a proper air/fuel ratio. too cold & it runs rich all the time, which leads to early secondary ignition failure, (plugs, wires, etc).

Marc if its got a 142 wouldnt that make it a carb engine? EFI already has a higher thermostat.

found out minedid/has come installed with a 160.
