Perfect Pass jumping--need help!

I have a PP Wakeboard Pro. I'm having a problem with it half the time. Sometime when I'm using it, the speed reading would jump all over the place and the boat would slow down to a stall. When I have it turned off, my boat runs fine but sometimes the speed reading on the PP would starting jumping all over the place again. It seems to happen more frequent now then before.

I email PP and they say I need to replace the paddlewheel. Does someone have a picture of what it looks like and how much it would cost?

that is more than likely yoru problem or incorrect placement (possibly) the paddlewheel is cheap.

Sometimes you can change the sensitivity settings and it will help too. If you run a heavily loaded boat, adjusting a few things helps. Check your manual for directions.

John, You should have a spare PP impellor in your owners packet. All our customers who have PP factory installed get a spare. If you don't have one, we have them in stock. If you don't know how to change it...give me a call 951-479-9640 or bring it by the shop and we can change it out in 10 min.

By the way ....surging is caused when one or more of the four blades are knocked off from hitting debries in the lake or hitting a bunk on the trailer if the trailer is in too deep or misalinged when driving it on the trailer. Tim Sherwin

It is also possible that something has just gotten wrapped up around the paddle wheel.

The paddle wheel is fairly small, perhaps 1-1/2 inch diameter, and only the tips hang down below the bottom of the boat. Crawl under your boat while it is on the trailer and it should be easy to find. It will be off to one side of center, ahead of the prop but towards the back.

Once you find it give it a spin with your fingers. It might just need cleaning out, or the little paddle wheel might need to be replaced. If the boat is out of the water the paddle wheel assembly can be easily removed from inside the boat (assuming you can get to it.)
