which component system to buy

aright im getting new components in my boat, im probly going with 3 pairs, like everyone else i want to have the loudest set of components on the lake with clear sound, i have some piked out in my price range i just need someone to tell me what there opion is on these look at these,,,,,,,

and please if there is any other component systems out there for around the same price that are better please let me know about them, another thing is right now i can only afford to buy the components, i canot buy an amp right now, will it be safe to run them off the head unit or will it under power them and sound like crap?

Look at POLK DB6500's or DB6750's. I have the DB6500's and they sound great, plus they have been marine certified.

I love JL Audio, it's really all I run because they sound so good and last so well but the TR's are a bit disappointing. I tried the TR's in the back of my truck and ended up blowing a tweeter while the XR's in the front are still going strong.

The TR's come with a 3/4" tweeter while the XR's come with a 1" tweeter, the difference is huge! The XR's are the way to go if you use JL, not only for clearer sound but , even more important on a boat, for more volume without distortion.

Sorry I am not more usefull with the other choices but I am not as familiar with them. I do know, however, if you step up your budget a bit and get the JL Audio XR components, you will thank me later.
