i wanna get a fusion 4 light bar and was wondering if you could just wire it into the nav lights with a switch up on the tower to turn them on and off. can the wiring in the tower handle the wattage of the lightbar?

Just finished wiring mine. First question about wiring with your Nav lights. Sure but I wouldn't put the switch on the light bar because you'll have to attach it to the tower. I'd put a toggle switch somewhere around the cockpit run 12 gage wire from your light to the switch. On the parelell side splice it into your nav wires. This way when the toggle is on it'll work when your nav lights are on, when the toggle is switched to off only your nav lights will work. My lights pull 4 amps each so I went with a 30 amp fuse for ample (no pun intended) fuse space. This fuse upgrade will need to be off your nav lights because the amps will pull to it or you can put one between your lights and the toggle, your choice. I'd do only one. When you run them check the wiring to make sure it's not getting hot, if it is the wire will change colors (lighten up whichever color wire you use).

Second question, can the existing wiring handle the lightbar. This depends on what type of wiring already exists. If it was wired for tower lights probably so if it was wired for tower speakers probably not.

My two cents
