Last weekend when I took out my '98 Super Sport, the throttle arm was a little difficult to put into gear, while in gear it moved fine, maybe just a little tighter than normal but hardly at all, but then it took a bit of force to put it back in the neutral position. I've had the boat 2 years and not replaced the throttle cable, but I'm wondering if the arm itself is having trouble. The cable seems to move fine in gear, but the arm itself is a little harder to put in and get out of neutral. Anyone else had this problem? Should I apply some grease somewhere on the arm or at the other end of the cable, or is there a screw adjustment I should check somewhere? Or replace the whole throttle arm? What are some troubleshooting steps to determine if the problem is the arm, cable, or engine throttle?
