I just got my boat in the water this season (finally) and it looks like the heater coil is cracked and leaking. It looks like I must have had some water sitting in there over the winter. Anyone have any suggestions beside shelling out $400 for a new heating module? I've got a 2 outlet heater. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!!

take the box apart and take the core to any auto parts place. Same heater core that they use in cars, I think the core is the same as a late model ford Ranger

good luck

Not sure about a BU, but my buddy replaced his in a 2000 Super Air with one from a local radiator shop (or you can try an auto parts store.) If it's a Heatercraft 2-H., ask for a heater core from a 79 model LTD. The part number is Modine 702273.

The cost of the heater core was $28 as opposed to a $60 factory replacement.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can find it this route.

Cheers

Remove the hoses and insert a sleve and connect hoses and keep riding while you try to get the right coil. Mine leaked about four years age and still haven't replaced it. In fact the switch is now being used for my ballast pump.

Depending on where it is cracked, a radiator shop may be able to weld it. Cost you about $25.00.
