2006 Watson limited

my watsons have finally torn....
2 of the lace "eyelets" on the upper section of my right binding have come apart from the boot.

I can no longer tighten that binding tight around my shin

I am told that they can be repaired under warranty....as long as I get them sent before 2008

but then I am without bindings

thought about seeing if an upholstery shop can sew them

thought about buying a new set of bindings, but don't really wanna drop $200 or $300 on a good set

was plannin on riding till November.....but don't know if I feel secure.....might have the right foot pop out....leaving the left knee exposed to injury

what would yall do?
is injury a concern in this case? or am I just paranoid?

just warranty them and get a new set! and just deal with being without them for a few weeks, it will be worth it to have a new set!

you have a 12 month warranty on your boots from purchase so i wouldnt wait until after to try and take them back. 06s have a habit of breaking in that spot (mine have been replaced and fixed). they corrected the design in 07s. if you take them back, you may get them fixed but probably replaced. i wouldnt use them as they are. without the top laces i would say you have a good chance of having your leg/knee twisted in a fall... might get away with it, might not...

I have the same bindings. Yesterday was my 7th day with them. The same eyelet tore on the upper lace. I tried to keep riding with them but the first time I had a yard sale I put my old transits back on. I'm taking them back for warranty this afternoon. I'm hoping to see the 07's as a replacement. I would even chip in a little $$ to get the corrected version.
