what's the 411 on lk. andrea ? wind protected ? deep? clean ?
Old     (mobv)      Join Date: Jun 2002       06-12-2007, 6:05 AM Reply
Private lake, depth not an issue, clean as most lakes, wind can be a problem. Last year at Nationals there were white caps part of the time, Thursday events were all delayed due to storms.

its a good lake, not exactly a "lake" per se, it smore like a super sized pond, in my opinion. yeah...not the most protected by wind, but when i was there on Sunday last year, water wasnt too bad at all. It was a sweet event.

Good lake, perfect for Nationals...everybody should go, all the best riders are there...

Yea, George is right, last year they almost had to pull Eddie off of his run due to lightning. But the year before that was awesome. Lets see how the change of date affects it this year. Absolutley one of my favorite stops. The basketball and dodgeball team nights are so fun!
We will be there for sure!

Keep your kids away from the sidelines for the dodge ball contest when Rusty is on the court Robyn what day are you getting into the Minn.

Flying into Chicago on Thursday and driving to MN straight from the airport. So I am guessing late Thursday night. Are you staying at the Hampton? I love that hotel!

Robyn, no staying with friends, but we might sneek into your pool We might see you guys on Friday, riding with A.N. and crew.

Like hawkeye said above, more like a large pond. The last two years for the final day the wind was off the shore the side they were riding on, so the water was pretty good. Two years ago during the final run of the whole tournament, the boat hit a tree that must have been churned up by all the runs, so Harf had to wait 45 minutes to get the new boat in the water, still won the finals. No trees last year.

What's the closest hotel to the event? Is there one within walking distance? The Radisson seems pretty close, but I've never actually seen the area, and I'm not sure if its sold out yet (I'll call once I find out how many of us are going) You can purchase tickets the day of the event no problem, correct? I'm definitely coming--just not certain if I'll be by myself or if some buddies will be joining. Hope to see some of you there! Thanks.

Radisson is a mile away or so, no walkin - you'd be on the side of a country hiway. There is no infrastructure right around the park, nothing close. Kenosha is not far away, however, and there is a nice outlet mall if you need to shop for socks or something.

The mini-lake has virtually no wind protection, it is on a sort of "prairie", but overall it's a very nice site - easy access.

You can buy tickets on site (at least you could last year), it would make no sense to turn anyone away, plenty of room.

Yeah its awesome, i love it. I've gone the past 2 years and its a blast! I will def be there this year.

The lake or pond is perfect for the event. Last year it got a bit choppy but nothing to horrible. Oh and you cant forget about the free stuff

Would love to go. Was in the Twin Cities last weekend for the MC event. Missed a whole weekend of riding. Just don't want to miss another weekend to ride, especially when it's suppose to be so nice here in Central WI! The season is so short the way it is.

West Coast very well represented today! Especially proud of all of our NorCal riders moving on today: Danni Petraitis and Shawna Hoffman in Jr. Women, Chad Payton and Josh Twelker in Boys, Raequel Hoffman and Shelby Kantar in Pro Women, Grant Roberts in Pro Skate, and adopted NorCal Alex Scagliotti in Junior Men. Congrats also to Peter Duncan taking 2nd in Veterans.

WOW! I can't remember NorCal ever being so well represented. Good luck to all tomorrow and Sunday!
