I have a question maybe some of you Sanger owners can help with.

When I drive the boat up onto the trailer the stainless steel rub rails come in contact with the guide pole covers I have. The screws seem to tear holes in the covers. Is this a common issue or are my screws not properly installed?

Thanks for your inputs.

you use the guide poles? i usually just shoot right in between them... on a really windy day last year i did just graze one but it didnt rip it..

i dont have the fancy rub rail, but i dont have any tears on mine.. seems like that would be very anoying though... do you have a screw head or 2 sticking our further than others??

Get a little better trailering the boat and you won't have that issue. Seriously it happens to everyone a time or two, don't bother replacing them until they are just unbearable to look at because it will happen again.

No screws sticking out further than the rest. It is annoying. It seems to tear right where it says "Sanger". My wife is just going to have to get better at it before I buy new ones.

I don't have a sanger but this seems to happen with pretty much all the boats that have the stainless steel rub rails. We just bought a new x-star and we just took the guide covers off because they are destroyed pretty quickly especially if it's windy at the ramp. We just use the plastic guides and don't even worry about it. The plastic doesn't hurt the rub rails at all.
