NADA Guides accurate?

How accurate are Nada guides to what used boats actually sell for? What's your experience?

I have found that people ask at least 2000 over nada value...

Nada also doesn't seem to account for hours on the boat to determine value. What's generally accepted as the amount of hours a boat should have per year?

I am going to test drive a boat this afternoon and was wondering same thing considering NADA. The boat is a 98 Maristar 225 VRS with 160 hours. The owner is asking $26k and NADA high is $23,500. I have to assume he is in the ball park considering the boat is in excellent shape with no hours.

Around 100 hrs per year is the norm.

That is low hours on the maristar and I bet it's in pretty good condition but $26k asking price is way high. But that's just my opinion.

For $26,000 you can get a 2000 X - Star.

Some people are way to proud of their boats. Around here people pay between low and high retail depending on the boat. There is a 2000 xstar on here for 25k I think.
