From my personal experience, fins will help you track and edge better. With no fines it its easier to slide out when cutting hard. The first board i bought had no fins, and i had a lot of trouble when cutting in towards the wake. I bought fins and there was an immediate difference. The board i have now has 4 side fins and no center fins and its the best of both worlds. It holds when edging and is easy to do surface tricks.

all depends on you. kinda like asking shoes fit you best only you can tell what will work for you. from my experience beginners should leave fins on.
but you'll probably hear from a bunch of people on this site that swear taking the fins off made them better riders. and they also ride at 85 feet 27 mph with 5k in ballast, because those things are cool too.

people are going to tell you what's better for them. if you want to know what's better for you, take off the center fins and try it. if you don't like it, put the center fins back on.
