I need help to choose which of these four used boats to buy in the next month or two. I'm an intermediate wakeboarder at best. Based on the reviews that I've come across online, I have narrowed my search down to these four boats with my $31K budget in mind and the amenities I'm looking for (nice wake shape, tower, tandem trailer, less than 300 hours, nicer interior, etc.)

2004-2006 Moomba Mobius LS
2004 Moomba Mobius LSV (only Vdrive I can afford)
2004 Supra Launch
2004-2006 Centurion T5

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll look at your boat for sale (Northwest only) too if you come across this. Thanks!

V-drive is always preferable for wakeboarding and general boat layout. Sundeck is nice and the storage can be filled with ballast.

Agreed, but it's more pricey and is it needed for an intermediate wakeboarder?

I bought this for 31.5k with less than 200hrs on it. Keep looking.

we got our 2001 Super Air for around that price and it had about 200 hours on it. You cant beat a Nautique.

Be patient. I found a 2004 B25 with 100hrs for 30K. I looked for a long time though. Watch Craigslist very carefully. The great deals are usually gone in a day.

That 04 Supra Launch is gonna have the best wake of the 4 you picked. It can have a pro wake with 1800 ballast. Great boat.

Winston, I have seen some SMOKIN older x-stars and SANS go for less than that. Dont forget, if you find a great deal on a boat with a poor trailer, you can add the costs of a tandem into the equation and still be ahead.

Just make sure you get a V drive. No one likes to be tripping over ballast bags. I get a great wake out of my Mobius with the 3 bag factory ballast and two fat sacs under the front seats.

Thanks guys. Cliff, I don't know how your found that Air Nautique for that price. Auction? I'll keep looking for Vdrives.

We just decided to list our 2003 Wakesetter VLX. Pretty much loaded with stereo, tower lights and speakers, extra sacs for surfing, tandem trailer. Has 500 hrs on it and well cared for. Not sure how firm you are on the hours. Looking for $33k and was going to list when the weather warms up a little, but if you want some more info, hit me up. Gotta resize some pictures to post them but I think I have some I can e-mail.

Winston,

I've seen three or four like mine in the 31k price range this winter. You just have to look everyday, and be ready to pounce when a good deal comes along.

Check my profile. Bought my '97 Super Sport with under 100 hrs. on it for under 24k. Added tower, ballast and new stereo for another 3k and that boat will throw a wake just like the new Super Airs. Keep looking, you can definitely do better than the boats you have listed.

I'm new to these boats (http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/407498.html?1170439185) -isn't 500 hours too much? I like the options and location of the boat though. Could have a better graphics pack, but...

Do direct drives handle better in rough water (i.e. after 11am in Seattle)

Five hundred hours in nothing if the boat is taken care of.

1hr = 100miles on a boat. That boat only has 50k on it.

You will not be happy with an inboard short term or long. The v-drive will fair better in just about every category when compared to a direct drive.
