I am buying a wakesurf board, but was wondering if I could use it to surf without boats at the beach.(is it too small, can you get enough speed paddling?)

It would all depend on your body weight vs. the size and style of board your wanting to surf on. I would suggest a Shred Stixx style of board. Perhaps the Blowfish model. Call Jerry direct at (925) 240-7517. He's an "old school" ocean surfer turned Wake surfer. He will tell you what type of board you need.

You could totally ocean surf a Shred Stixx. Try doing a search on the topic. I saw it on here not to long ago.
