I need some help deciding on a new board for this season. I have always rode Byerly boards and love the semi-loose feel and pop. They edge hard but you can break them loose easily. I would like a board that lands a little softer though. I am ready to buy the new Byerly but I would like to hear about some other options. I know everyone loves the new Ronix One but I don't think I'm sold on it.

I got Hyperlite Proof bindings for Christmas but after seeing the Ronix Cell at a boat show I exchanged them. I hope the Cell's ride as nice as they feel on my feet.

Matt,

If you like the Byerly boards (specifically finless) for their "semi-loose feel and pop," then there are many boards you could try:

Hyperlite: new Byerly, Premier, Imperial
LF: Watson, Axis, Substance
CWB: Transcend, Absolute, Pure
GB: Legend, Militant
Ronix: probably the One, but who knows for sure

As everyone always says, a demo is your best option.

Matt I would say for CWB look at the 07 Faction Board. Its fast, has big pop, you can break it loose and it has a big spine, so the landings are really soft.
As far as the graphics, one of the better looking boards for 07 very sick!!
Give it a look and a demo.

I second the CWB Faction----can't say enough about it--dome,demo,demo!

well nothing is gonna ride quite like a byerly, did you ride one of the byerlys from the last few years? cause when i rode them i didnt think that they loose at all. as for the cells they are sick boots and will be like last years 3ds really stiff with a lot of ankle support and not much flex

Will throw the O'Brien Natural, Cartel & Valhalla into the mix as well. Fast, soft landings, great pop (no Byerly buck but still good pop on the Natural & Valhalla, haven't ridden the Cartel yet) and easy to break loose.

And personnally, I found the HL Premier lands hard.

Thanks for the advice. I live in Ohio I won't be able to demo anything for a few months.

Matt I was in the same predicament, after riding the Byerly for three season's I wanted to change it up. I only got to Demo a few board's but fell ill to the Transcend. It rode like my Byerly but just a little loser. Landing's were good as well. Also the Absolute is nice and the Watson by LF. Those are the only one's I rode before my choice to go with the Transcend.
