Anybody else get their own free copy of Shaft. I picked up the version compressed for the Ipod video. Awesome! Thanks to the production company, I enjoyed seeing a lot of riders early in their careers and Greg Necrasson was awesome in the video.

I downloaded it but having trouble actually getting it to play. If someone could give me some suggestions why it isn't working that would be great.

Thanks Dave...it was in the little box in WBM this month. I read that stuff first usually...went right to the PC and downloaded all three groups compressed and then moved them to Itunes and saved to my Ipod. I can see why Parks has the reputation he has. I thought Murrays section was awesome too.

Byrd,
It would be possible, but not worth it. The video quality is set up for a 3" screen, not a TV. It would look horrible.

Eric, what did you have to do? I down loaded, then tryied to move the files to my itunes library. It said the files were "not a movie file."

I don't get it. They appear to be qt format, which is the only format itunes will play.

Thanks for the info Steve. I'll watch it on my computer.

Jarrod, When you unzip the files, there are two in each zip folder. The larger ones in each folder are the video files. you can drag and drop into itunes and play.

Sweet! It worked. Thanks Byrd

Are there any other downloads like this that anyone knows about? I need more vids for my ipod!

Yeah...I forgot that part, there were actually two files and you want the one with no extension.

I hope more people do this. I like having the DVD, but now you need so many encoders to rip them for Itunes.

You will have to somehow convert the movie to an MPEG format much like ripping CDs to MP3. I have never done it before and not sure what programs are available to do it.

Lucky,

Yes it can be done, I have done it before. I used this DVD ripping bundle called AutoGordian Knot (AutoGK). It included software to rip the DVD files to your comp and then encode them to a .avi. Then there is another program that can convert it into iPod format. I'm at work now and don't have the info, but I could get it this weekend if you want. It's pretty time intensive and computer intensive (i.e. takes the comp a long time...hopefully you have a fast one). I'm sure there are several ways to do this, but this is the way I have done it.
