Havn't seen the new wbm, but there is a clip of Randy Harris in the Natural Born Thrillaz video where he throws a 360 off the double up with one foot in and one foot out. As far as the picture of Harf... he probably hurt his toe in those closed toe bindings.

i really think thats overkill and asking for injury, learn the tricks on the wakeskate imo. To each his own, but to me the sport should be progressed in other ways. www.wakecoupons.com

It's called a photo-op...Erich Smaltz used to do one footed tricks back in the day on a directional board, with a vel-cro bootie.

I loved those old pics of Smaltz. After seeing those I gave it a try (granted I was only like 11) I did it, but I wouldn't do it now.

Smaltz sold me my first wakeboard. Cool guy. Of course I had no idea who he was until I year later when I finally learned who's who. (Message edited by jarrod on October 06, 2005)

The trick is NOT from snowboarding. It's a Judo Air. It's an old skateboard vert ramp trick. I'm guessing he did it because his new graphics are from the old Vision Gator decks, and Gator used to do Judo's a lot

I agree. It's been going down for a long time. I've never gotten that into it and think it can stay in the snowboard scene where guys do it on 1/4 and 1/2 pipes frequently. You should def check out the section of Randy in Natural Born Thrillaz (I think that was it, maybe Outcastz), but it was sick. Pretty sure he did a mobe like that. UNREAL.

How could you hate life when Canyon Lake is your home lake, you get to ride on the Valdez's MB, and you skip school so much to wakeboard that you haven't learned how to type or spell by 16.

No go ahead jump. Danny is the man. Taking nothing away from Soven but the double up is where it is won and Phil at the X-games well................

One footers are for skating! I swear, these guys in the limelight could go out there and do the stupidest thing and suddenly everyone wants to try it. Who's the barney that invented the fashion air?

I know several guys here in NC that ride on the nose of their wakeboards out of the bindings. It is not photoshopped. I will ask around and see if anyone has a video clip of it or a pic.

Don't hate. As said before if Phil would have tried a decent double up he would have won. He didn't, so he lost.

how would u hang ten on a wakeboard, wouldnt you just sink your nose and face plant if you tried. if my understanding of hanging ten is right, all 10 toes curled over the nose of the board, right?

At the end of HYPE Parks does the hang ten move, and that video has to be at least four or five years old. He hangs ten for a while, then he drops his butt down in between the bindings, he hooks the handle on to his feet, puts his hands behind his head and then just causually lies back while getting pulled along.

hey sorry about the whole rip on danny. nothing against hyperlite i used to ride a 3ds, divine, and drifter. i just think the jib ribs are so dumb. and the close toed thing just looks like you would break you toe on a hard toeside landing. nothing meant to affend anyone sorry. you got to look at it phil matched everything danny did with a 5 or 7. for example danny did a crow mobe phil did a crow mobe 5 danny did a wirly and phil did a wirly 5 and 7 and danny does the 9 over and over again thats what i meant. never meant to affend anyone

ANd LF is into the the closed toe thing too. The new Shanes have that closed toe design. Not sure what to think about them. Whats the benefit other than stopping water from getting into the bindings?

tings00, It is real easy to get all 10 toes over the edge of the board, speed induces enough suction which allows you to creep up on the board without it catching the front edge until you get all 10 toes on the front edge of your board, in smooth water, you can ride as long as you want in this position. I'm 45 and I can tell you that it's really easy!!! Tim Krutz posted a photo earlier in this tread

nose of the board. think of it as similar to barefooting, or better yet shoe skiing. the way i do it, i get up on the board like a wakeskate, with my feet in front of either binding, then i move my feet around till i am up on the nose. the only tricky part is getting my rear foot around the front binding. once you have that figured out it is pretty easy. fun to do once in a while, at the end of a run when you just want to goof around
