Starting problems

I was out the other day riding and went to turn my boat back on after another rider jumped in and it wouldn't start right. It cranked but didn't roar as it normally does and was low and sputtering and turned off ater about 5 seconds. On like the 3rd try it started. It did that all day taking a few tries to start up. Any idea what the problem could be? Fuel pump?

what boat model, year, motor, carburated or injected?

06 x2 rtp1 injected

check the oil level in the motor.

sounds like bad gas

check the fuel water seperator.
