I'm looking for a boat (new or used)that i can be confident that small stuff wont keep going wrong on it (reliable), something that i can pull tubers, skiers, wakeboarders, etc. and has a decent sized wake for wakeboarding. what i'm aiming to spend is $20-$25,000, maybe a little bit more, but i'm really new to this and have no idea which name i can trust for that price, that has a decent wake. Also, if i get it used, how many hours is considered too many?
Please it would be a huge help if someone just threw out a brand name that i should look for.

I'm looking for the same thing as you. I'm keeping my eyes open for a Mastercraft 205V or a Nautique 210. Don't know how good the Maristar VRS hulls are, but I've been seeing them pop up for sale too.

I just got my '03 Supra SSV this summer with 250 hours on it for under 30k and it is a great boat. Nothing has had to be repaired since I have had it and from what the previous owner and when I got it looked at by my buddy that knows a lot about boats, there hadn't been and major work done to it before me. But if you are going used you just have to look at each indiviual boat and it's owner. The easiest test is just by looking at what the interior looks like bc I would say 9 out of 10 boat owners on this website that take good care of the interior also do the necessary work to keep the boat in great running condition.
As far as hours on a boat it just depends on how old it is. You don't want too many but you also don't want too few if you are getting into 5 years and older. The previous owner on my boat averaged 50 hours/year which isn't a whole lot but still enough to break it in and keep it running well.

Im partial to Supra but there are amazing deals out there especially since summer time is coming to an end. I would stick with whatever you feel comfortable in and if you get something used spend the extra money to get it looked at by a dealer or somebody that know what they are doing and you can trust bc it will be worth it in the long run.
For the sake of keeping this going on as long as possible, if you find a boat that small stuff doesn't happen to please let me know bc there is always something and that's just something you have to get used to and learn to live with when owning a boat period.
Keep an open mind bc there is a boat load of information that people on this site will be able to share. Good Luck!

I bought a 98 Air Nautique in the spring for 20k. It has 350 hours on it, good sound system, built in tank in ski locker and the two in the rear. Knock on wood, so far it's been the perfect boat!
