I am gunna rock the closed toes, provided I like they way they feel. Otherwise it will be the 08 Xenons. As for boards I have always loved the Vice, but it was so slow I couldnt ride it, I wanna try the new 08 board, and of course there will be a flexible deck in the mix as well.

We're riding today! Just waiting for the fog to burn off. We should be on the water by noon. Leave now and you'll be here just in time.

08 Vahalla 143. Don't feel too bad about not riding. Air temp is a crisp 38 degrees as we speak. At least the water is still at 55. I'm actually breaking out my dry suit today.

Yes, I should! Cliff, head on over to Lake Washington where there's no fog today. I'd be out but I've got a bad cold, so we cancelled this morning's session.

Waited all morning for the fog to clear. Ran down to the lake slapped the boat in the water, go to turn it over, nuttin! Twenty minutes later after exhausting all diagnoses we summized it's a bad starter.

Update... After searching high and low with an amp meter we found it was a bad ground connection.

Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing J! That is really cool to be seeing Chris Johnson's name on the board. I always thought it was silly that pros got the credit for their boards. I'm sure they have a say but they're (usually) not the shaper. Not taking away anything from Daniel Watkins by the way. He's such an awesome rider!

The water and weather are beautiful right now. I hope Cliff got out there. I would much rather go out there than go back to work. Jakober are you going to sand some of the fins off that board? I thought cliff said you rode with a couple of them removed.

Robert, Nope, I will rock it just the way it is! The board Cliff was talking about is my slider board that had some damage to the center fins, so I just sanded them off.

I like the new Natural, of course, I like the older ones too. Not much to dislike really, they are pretty conservative. Robert - We got out today from 12:00 - 3:00. Really nice out there. I brought an extra sack so the wake was awesome. Cliff's brain was a bit sore from "wine night" but he still pulled off a "spawning salmon". I hope we get a few more days like this before ski season starts up.

****THREAD HI-JACK**** Hey guys since I am deploying this sat and not returning til next summer I am thinking of trying to reserve those rooms for next year at NWWFfor the week. Is it too early, if so when do they sat taking those reservations? Ohh by the way it was a blown exhaust manifold gasket my boat had. ****THREAD HI-JACK OVER*****

Jason, Yes we finally got out yesterday. Water was perfect, and the boat ran great. Darren wanted a little extra weight so we added another 400lbs to the back. He and Mike were going huge, I on the other hand rode like a drunken ninja. It's never a good idea to pound a couple of bottles of wine and try to ride the next day. Mike getting ready to enjoy some fall butter. Quick pic of the wake yesterday. Kenny, NWWF is August 26th - 31st. The Boys wanted a couple of extra days to ride next year before the families head over, so we are heading over a little early.

Andy, I will be giving the closed toe Naturals a shot. I have ridden some of the prototypes and they feel good. Can't wait to try the finished product. The thing I am concerned about with all closed toe bindings is their apparent inability to release when taking a hard fall. I have seen more people get their bell rung while wearing closed toe bindings this year than ever before and every time they didn't come out of their bindings! I'm not talking about huge air wrecks, just your typical edge catch to face or back of head. Kinda scares me. I know O’Brien is designing some stretch in the upper part of the boot, so hopefully that will address the issue? If I don’t like them, I will rock the Xenons. I love how they feel and I know on a hard stack I will come out. So you are looking at the Vice, I can tell you that the Delta bottom really does speed the board up, still slow for my taste, but much better.

That wake looks a bit intimidating but I wish I could have been out there with you guys. Daren tell Cliff he has got that move down pat he doesn't need to practice it so much. Andy or Jakober have you guys ridden the new obrien flex board? What are your thoughts? Thanks

Robert, I played around on one of the early prototypes. It was pretty fun. Pretty flexy and very loose. It was the snowboard shaped one(R5). Very easy to press, I even hit a slider on it and it worked great. Haven't seen the final product though.

I haven't heard too much about the new flex boards only that obrien and liquid force are going to be putting something out next year. Is it going to be along the likes of the roam or not quite as flexy like the slingshot?

The R5 is the snowboard shaped flex board, similar the Roam. Comes in a 139 and a 145. The Local is the wakeboard shaped flex board, similar to the Slingshot. Comes in a 138 and 144.
