My new SV211 (new to me anyway) is due for it's first voyage tomorrow. It has factory ballasts in the middle and back. It also has 2 of what looks like about 275 pound ballast bags, built in, lining the left side (passenger side), for surfing. One is under the left side bench seat, and one is under the walk through transom. I also have 300 pounds of lead in 25 pound bricks. I'd like to place some or all of the lead in semi-permanent locations, meaning I don't want to load and unload the lead every time I use the boat, and I want to be able to trailer with the lead in there. We'll be surfing both sides, and wakeboarding too. So, my question is, what should I do with the lead?

I just put 800lbs of Steel shot www.pop-products.com in my boat and I found that the wake became so much crisper when I had about 40% of that weight spread evenly up front and the rest evenly in the rear lockers. I leave it in the bow always, and in rear lockers and only move it when I want the surf wake to get more defined.

You may want to move on of the ballast bags to the stern side if you can and then you can dial in that side of the wake as well. I am a big fan of the hard ballast products, which can be moved and tweaked for fine tuning of the wake.
