for anyone who has a bass boat and wants to get their kids riding behind it I have found that going way down in pitch size on your prop makes a HUGE difference in the success of the new riders. Normally I run a 25 Raker on a 175hp motor for anything fishing. When I took my boy and his friend out for the first time, they were able to get up for short runs because of the speed it took to keep the boat from blowing out was too high for good board control. I found a used 17 pitch aluminum that fit my motor, bolted it on and off to the water yesterday. It worked perfect. I was able to keep the boat half way up creating a smallish wake by wake boat standards, with speeds between 10 and 15mph. Perfect for the new comers. Today we are going to fill the live wells to see how that helps with building a better wake. The boys loved it.
