Nice pix Erik. The lake looks very low now. I was last there in Sept. of 2001 when it was almost full. What section of LP were these pix taken and how far down is the lake?

Water is down 140 feet. or in other terms it is only 40% full. We were in Padre Bay. About 22 miles from Wahweap Marina. I am going back for another week on the 22nd of this month. Should be fun. This time its just a guys trip .

The guy at the marina said they were losing about 6" of water a day during the summer. They will need a good snowpack and some serious rain to get that lake going in the right direction.

There has been much speculation here this summer at the headwaters of the Colorado and San Juan. These rivers are the major tributaries of Lake Powell. Current pessimistic projections in the Denver Post are saying that by 2007 the water level may fall below the turbine intakes/dam outlets, rendering Glen Canyon dam useless for hydro-electric and Lake Powell dead for all intents. I hope they are wrong as enviros are pushing for destruction of the dam if that happens. Let's hope and pray for some snow this winter.

Snow? You betcha! It's that time of year when I start to daydream more about snowboarding than wakeboarding (I'll switch back around March). Snow is good for winter and summer.

Sweet pics! That looks like a sweet trip. I bet it was not crowded and you had all of Padre Bay to yourselves. I'm jealous is an understatement. I soooo looking forward to our next trip, and it's not until June 05!
