i have the grace of being able to live there... but at the sacrifice of finding it difficult to gather a crew. we hurt to find a third even most weeks.

Josh - we usually stay on Lone Rock beach, but we stayed in a Hotel in Page this year because we have a small baby. My parents were camping on the beach with the boat, trailer, and quads so we just met them every morning.

That tree is on the main channel a few miles up-lake from Rainbow Bridge. it is on the left side as you are traveling up-lake/river. pretty much just look for a dark arrowhead looking thing above the full-pool-white line. The pic was taken back in 2005... so... i can't promise that the tree is still there, but i immagine it would be.

alright,
I'm gona be a real "jerk" on these ones... mostly because i don't have any better resolution of these. they were taken by a friend of a friend of a friend...of my dad's
There was a quick crazy rainstorm about a week ago. i saw the same rainbow but from wahweap area instead of gunsight and padre. i did not have a camera though. it was absolutely spectacular. it had a clear double rainbow and everything (not really visible in the photos... as usual, no justice in photos). anyway, i'll stop there before someone digs their fist in my shoulder or calls me a 3 letter word.

i can barely see the remnants of the double rainbow in kelley's, and just barely in the one i posted too. i swear there is something about cameras that just cant pick up the second 'bow... but then again i am not much more than your typical point-and-shoot kind of guy, so what do i know about capturing colors of rainbows with a lense?

Chris ~~ Some of the best riding and camping can be found in Halls Creek Bay. It's usually busy since it's the closest from BF.

Sucks that it's busy, Kind of want to find a secluded cove with some room to ride within it. I guess we could go 20-30 miles out

Chris ~~ The only problem is that area is sheer cliffs and the wakes never go away! Hall Creek is big and has some shore line in the back where you can get a decent early morning ride. Problem is everybody else wants it to. Get plenty of pics to share! The more up lake you go the less and less people you will see. Good luck on the trip!

Chris ~~ I can't say for camping but if you head north you will have a few more canyons to search, if I'm not mistaking I see more people heading north then I do going south. North opens up to Good Hope Bay which is super nice but south also opens up to a bay about half the size of Good Hope. Either way N or S 20 - 30 miles your going to love the trip. Have you been to Powell before?

Yeah quite a few times, just haven't been through bull frog in about 10 years. Can't really remember where all the good spots are. We usually drive the extra 2 hours to page, where my buddy has a house boat. It's going to be a great trip, super excited.

I guess you would have to go through The Narrows to get there! I hate The Narrows!
Since the cut has been open I avoid Antelope Point Marina like the plague!!
The cut!
Antelope Point Marina is the south yellow dot and the cut is the north yellow dot!
It would be awesome if people could include either buoy mile markers or gps coordinates with their pictures unless they want them to remain secret.

The Castle Rock cut through is a life saver. Its saves you hours and a washing machine ride through the Narrows. The engine on our houseboat died on a trip through the narrows once. Almost ended up against the canyon wall but saved it with the wake boat.
Love Powell, best place in the world.

The castle cut is a life saver when were staying at the marina in Antelope, believe it or not the narrows has been a super place to ride since the boat traffic is 0. Most people don't have a reason to use the narrows so it's a long enough run to get about 2 or 3 tired and still have good water on the way back.
Anybody that is down there on Aug 28th their having a rail comp at the Marina... Come check it out or come ride! If you search antelope point marina on Facebook, the first 5 to confirm they will be there will get their entrance fee waived. Last time I checked there was still 3 spots open.
